Winter Texan season is in full swing, and staff from the Rio Grande City EDC attended the annual Winter Texan Expo and Health Fair held at the McAllen Convention Center to promote Rio Grande City and the Bessie III Trolley Tour. This two day event saw over 6,000 attendees and featured various businesses and attractions the Rio Grande Valley has to offer for visitors from all over the country and the world.
“We are excited to highlight our beautiful downtown Rio Grande City and our trolley tours to over 6,000 visitors from all over the world at this event,” said Nancy Perez, Rio Grande City Main Street and Business Development Coordinator.
The trolley tours, provided by the Rio Grande City EDC, entertain and educate visitors about Rio Grande City historic downtown’s historical buildings and landmarks such as the Grotto of Lourdes, La Borde House and the Silverio de la Pena Building to name a few. In addition, after the tour, visitors have the opportunity to stop at the Kelsey Bass Museum and at various shops and eateries that make up the Main Street business community in downtown Rio Grande City.
Tours are available two times a day, 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
