Last year, approximately 12 downtown Rio Grande City businesses set out candy for over 600 trick-or-treaters. This year, those numbers more than doubled, with over 1,300 trick-or-treaters and their parents visiting over 35 downtown retailers at 27 candy stops for a Halloween on Main adventure.
“We thank all of our downtown businesses for making this Halloween a great success,” said Nancy Perez, Main Street and Business Development Coordinator. “This event would not be possible without them.”
The Rio Grande City Main Street Program invited downtown businesses through their Facebook page and included those interested as a candy stop on a flyer, a 36-second video, as well as, a digital map accessible through Google Maps.
