The Rio Grande City Economic Development Corporation held its 8th annual Rio Grande City Employer Expo and Job Fair in Rio Grande City. This event was organized by the Rio Grande City EDC with Workforce Solutions, Rio Grande City Public Library, and South Texas College Starr County Campus to bring together employers and job seekers in Rio Grande City with career opportunities.
The two-day event began with three free workshops hosted by the Rio Grande City Public Library on February 28th. The workshops included tips on resume writing, interviewing skills, and dressing for the workplace. These activities led to the Employer Expo and Job Fair on February 29th.
Employers such as the Texas Department of Public Safety, South Texas College, South Texas CDL Institute, and many others were present and looking to fill positions at the event. Well over 90 jobseekers attended with employers extending approximately 148 potential job offers at the event.
