IDEA Public Schools administration and staff invited local community leaders and guests to a ribbon cutting ceremony and campus tour to celebrate their grand opening.
“We are continuing our journey toward insuring every student in Starr County receives an excellent education and is on the road to college,” said Principal Fernando Salinas.
IDEA Rio Grande City is the first IDEA campus in Starr County, serving more than 525 students in grades Pre-K through 1st and 6th grade and is one of several new IDEA campuses to incorporate a family style eating pilot program in their cafeteria.
“Rio Grande City is proud and honored to officially welcome IDEA Public Schools and its vision of excellence in transforming the lives of students they serve,” said Mayor Joel Villarreal in his remarks.
