The Rio Grande City EDC congratulates Rio Brewing Company on the grand opening of their new location held on Friday, August 18, 2018.
“We are excited to serve the community with our new location in Rio Grande City and we look forward to providing our customers the best service and experience possible,” Oscar Gonzalez, owner of Rio Brewing Company said.
Rio Brewing Company is now housed at the old Emilio Block Building, which is historically known for its underground tunnels and small lookout tower used during Prohibition to smuggle whiskey and other alcoholic drinks from Mexico.
“Welcome to Main Street and thank you for investing in Rio Grande City and our historic downtown,” said Mayor Joel Villarreal.
“On behalf of the Rio Grande City EDC, we’d like to congratulate you on your grand opening and for lightening up our downtown area and being involved in with our Main Street Advisory Board,” said Fred Lopez, Rio Grande City EDC Secretary.
Rio Brewing Company is located in the historic building at 602 E. Main Street. They are open from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday. For more information, please call (956) 317-1433.
