Nancy Perez, Rio Grande City Main Street and Business Development Coordinator attended a Main Street 101 Workshop as part of continuing professional development. The Laredo Main Street Program hosted the workshop on Wednesday, May 16 at La Posada Hotel in downtown Laredo.
“It was great getting to know our Laredo Main Street neighbors. All Main Streets have their own set of unique challenges, but we all share a common goal of creating a vibrant and prosperous destination for our communities,” said Nancy Perez, Rio Grande City Main Street and Business Development Coordinator. “I look forward to an ongoing partnership not only with them, but with other Main Street cities as well.”
The workshop, presented by Debra Drescher, Texas Main Street State Coordinator, touched upon the four-point approach for Main Street revitalization of historic downtowns followed with various topics covering program management and organization, downtown promotion, building design and economic vitality ideas for downtown revitalization efforts.
