Cathy Rubio, Rio Grande City Main Street & Kelsey Bass Museum Coordinator represented Rio Grande City at the Texas Main Street Program annual summer retreat this week.
This three-day event has hosted 70 representatives from 44 Main Street programs across Texas. Activities include downtown tours of all three host cities, presentations by Main Street managers and THC staff, and roundtable discussions about preserving the historic character of Texas communities.
The Texas Main Street Program is composed of communities across the state that are committed to preservation-based economic development and revitalization of their historic downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts.
