It was a great day in Rio Grande City as cooking teams from around the Rio Grande Valley gathered on Britton Avenue in Historic Downtown for the 10th Annual Chili Showdown on Saturday, February 3rd. A total of twenty-one teams competed for Rio Grande City’s Chili Showdown honors.
The crowd enjoyed live music from Riverside Band, Tejano Knights, Nexxo, Gladys Garcia, Tropical Panama, Lucky Joe and Los Garcia Brothers. Children enjoyed free kiddie rides while couples danced the night away underneath the lighted Britton Avenue Kiosk.
